Shopping for womens activewear brands can be so expensive. Whether you’re shopping for womens activewear tops, womens active shorts, the best affordable activewear online, or big-bust friendly sports bras – some womens activewear brands do a better job than others on certain pieces. Let’s talk about the best activewear brands for women to add to your wardrobe and where to invest your hard-earned money!

At the beginning of 2022, I was fresh out of college, in a new phase of life, and I decided that it was time to say goodbye to my college wardrobe and invest in some quality activewear pieces.
After that, I got rid of almost every clothing article I owned in hopes that I could start with a blank canvas and reinvent my athleisure style. After almost a year, I couldn’t believe how hard it was to find quality activewear (especially for bigger busted women, I’m a 32DD) at an affordable price!
I thought because I was a sports bra designer that surely I’d know what to look for and how much to spend on activewear. I invested over $1,000 in what I thought were quality activewear pieces only to discover that a lot of them fell apart less than a year later! Thanks, Instagram for the fall promises of quality activewear at an affordable price.
As a result, I’ve learned that there are womens activewear pieces that need a higher investment, and some that you can get away with spending less on. Let’s talk about which womens activewear brands are good for what so you don’t have to waste any of your hard earned money like I did!

Best Activewear Brands For Women
1. SheFit – Best DD+ High Impact Sports Bras
If you haven’t heard me talk about SheFit before, where have you been?! As the CEO of a rising high-impact sports bra company for big busts, I’ll be straight up and say that this is one of the top women’s activewear brands for high-impact sports bras that for one, is a huge competitor of mine, and two – doesn’t suck.
I reviewed one of their most popular sports bra, the Shefit Ultimate High Impact Sports Bra on my YouTube channel. You can check that out here.
Overall, if you are a D+ gal looking for an extremely supportive and customizable high impact sports bra, look no further.
These bras are soooo expensive. At around $70 per bra, not including shipping, be sure to sign up for their newsletter and get 10% off your first purchase (and then just unsubscribe later, you’re welcome).
If you experience breast pain while exercising, discomfort from your sports bra or just overall are self-conscious in your sports bra, this is the bra for you. I will say that from my experience, it is not comfortable for everyday wear, which is a huge downer for me.
I’d highly recommend this sports bra if:
Get The SheFit Bra If:
1.) You’re an E (DD) cup or bigger
2.) You experience breast pain while exercising
3.) You are willing to dedicate this sports bra to just exercise
4.) You need more adjustability in the straps of your sports bra
5.) Customization in your bra is important
Check out Shefit’s High Impact Sports Bra collection here.
If you’re in that D-DD range, Lululemon might be a better option for you. Check out tip number three. But, for my DD+ gals that are looking for a supportive sports bra for exercise, this is it.
Luxury Activewear Brands vs. Affordable Activewear Brands
2. Athleta – Best Legging and Sports Bra Pair
Now that we have discussed a quality high impact sports bra for bigger-busted women, let’s chat about Athleta. Athleta is one of those luxury activewear brands that are amazing if you’re looking for a complete restock. This activewear brand has a little bit of everything.
They are a bit expensive, which is why I personally think their leggings and sports bras are a great investment, but you might be able to save elsewhere and get a similar quality piece.
I’d personally look for jackets, overshirts, etc. in other, more affordable brands because I don’t think they’re quite worth the money (full retail at least), but the leggings and sports bras are worth investing in!
Here are a few amazing, quality leggings and sports bras for women that are worth the money.
Old Navy – Affordable Women’s Activewear
On the contrary, if $50 per sports bra and $60-$90 per legging is way out of your budget (I get it, trust me!), and you’re still looking for more affordable activewear brands, I highly recommend checking out Old Navy’s Activewear.
This is a sister company of Athleta who has quality pieces for an affordable price. My only complaint about Old Navy is that their leggings don’t have the most flattering fit (aka camel toe), and I find that their sports bras are a little thin. But for the price, this affordable activewear brand is a great option.
Here are a few pieces from Old Navy that I love.
3. Lulelemon – Best Comfortable and Supportive Sports Bras
I have no doubt that if you’re an active girl, you’ve most definitely have heard of Lululemon. All of their activewear pieces are high quality. But, for the average 18-49-year-old, Lululemon might be out of the budget for a complete restock.
If you’re going to invest in any of the top women’s activewear brands on the market, know what pieces to invest in. As a bigger busted girl, I think Lululemon’s sports bras are amazing. The sports bras are true to size, have a supportive fit and feel, and they’re made to last. My only complaint is that there are not more styles to choose from (for bigger busted women anyways).
Here are some of my absolute favorite high impact sports bras from Lululemon that are worth the money.
While there are only 8 styles to choose from in the high-impact support category, they have a lot of awesome colors that can be mixed and matched with lots of activewear pieces!
If you’re looking for an in-depth review on one of my favorite sports bras from Lululemon that is only $50 (seriously a steal), check out this YouTube video.
4. Gymshark – Best Matching Sets
Brands like Gymshark, let me tell you – I’ve searched the internet up and down trying to find the perfect dupe matching set. While Amazon has come close, I truly think you can’t beat the quality for the price of Gymshark’s matching activewear sets.
They offer so many different colors and styles of each outfit. My only complaint is that they sell fast, so if you see something you like in your size, you better grab it before it’s gone!
I wish Gymshark had more high-impact sports bra options for my D+ gals out there, but overall – this Instagram fitness clothing brands is great for matching workout sets.
5. CRZ Yoga on Amazon – Best For Affordable Leggings
I first heard of CRZ Yoga back in the day when HopeScope was popping up on YouTube. CRZ Yoga is one of those top women’s activewear brands on Amazon that started coining the term “Lululemon dupes.” I have to agree that their leggings are amazing.
The CRZ YOGA Women’s Naked Feeling Workout Leggings 25 Inches – High Waisted Yoga Pants with Side Pockets are total Lululemon dupes. My only recommendation is if you’re planning to do HIIT workouts or running in these leggings, definitely size down if you prefer for your leggings to have more compression.
Overall, I love this brand. I will say that their leggings, jogger pants, and sweats are so affordable and worth the money, but I’d steer away from their sports bras if you’re bigger busted.
I do think CRZ Yoga has some great lounging bras. You can learn more about CRZ Yoga sports bra on my YouTube channel.
Other CRZ Yoga Athelisure Outfits I’d Recommend – Activewear Fashion
- CRZ YOGA Womens 4-Way Stretch Ankle Golf Pants – 7/8 Dress Work Pants Pockets Athletic Yoga Travel Casual Lounge Workout
- CRZ YOGA Women’s Naked Feeling Workout Leggings 25 Inches – 7/8 High Waist Yoga Tight Pants
- CRZ YOGA Women’s Lightweight Workout Joggers 27.5″ – Travel Casual Outdoor Running Athletic Track Hiking Pants with Pockets
6. Nike – Best for Shoes
Likewise, if you’re looking for a quality pair of athleisure shoes for running, walking, and everything in between, I highly recommend checking out Nike. I know that Nike shows no mercy when it comes to their price tags, but believe me when I say that I had a pair of Nike shoes that I wore for 12+ years before I got rid of them. They are that good.
Here are some of my favorite Nike shoes for each activity.
Nike Activewear – Shoes For Women
- Lifestyle shoe (for errands, walks, athletic fashion): Nike Tanjun Women’s Running Shoes
I find that these are a better lifestyle shoe than a running shoe!
- Running Shoe: Nike Run Swift 2 Women’s Running Shoes
- Training Shoe (weight lifting, resistance training): Nike MC Trainer 2 Women’s Training Shoes
Nike shoes run a half size too large on me. I’m a normal 7.5 but I wear a size 7 in Nike shoes. If you have a local Nike store, Kohl’s, or any other retailer near you, definitely stop by and try out each size to see what works best for you!
7. Adidas – Best For Sweatsets
Likewise, if you’re on the hunt for women’s active wear outfits, I absolutely love Adidas for their stylish sweatsuit sets, sweatshirts, and more.
Here are some of my favorite pieces from Adidas lately that are best for lounging, hanging out around the house, or even doing errands.
I always try to snag clothing items on sale, especially since they are so marked up. If these aren’t on sale currently, be sure to turn on the “sale alert” so you can be the first to know about any deals that are happening!
There you have it ladies – the best womens activewear brands. Above all, my best tip is to keep an eye out for sales, and snag name-brand pieces for an affordable price whenever you can! I definitely think less-known activewear brands sell some really quality pieces (especially CRZ Yoga on Amazon), but some larger brands like Adidas or Nike have had so much research and development done over the years, that you really can’t beat the quality.
See you in the next one xoxo.
