Finding the right type of sports bra for your bust size is an essential part of your exercise experience. Whether you’re looking for a high impact sports bra that encapsulates and compresses your breasts during exercise, a cute sports bra for athleisure, or your next gym bra on a budget, I’m sharing my best sports bra tips for big busts that you need to know about. Besides, I am a high impact sports bra designer – I should know.

Growing up, I had such a hard time finding sports bras for my DDD cup size. I literally cried the day I tried on my first trainer bra. I was an active girl and wearing a bra just wasn’t on my to-do list
I know what it’s like to leave a poorly lit, self-destructing dressing room wondering why there aren’t any bras that fit me. In a weird way, I felt ashamed of my large and heavy breasts compared to my friends who were barely filling out A-cup bras. I’m athletically build, petite, and curvy – a body type that a surprising number of brands aren’t making athletic wear for.
Whether you’re a beginner in the gym just getting started with your fitness journey, an avid runner experiencing back pain due to your bust size, or a teenager like I was just getting the feel for your new figure, there is a sports bra out there for you.
I’ve spent the past 13 years buying the wrong bras, crying in the wrong dressing rooms, and the past 3 years designing my perfect patent-pending sports bra for big busts (coming to the market here soon). I know exactly what your breasts need, what you can expect to spend for the right sports bra, and where you can get all the deals because #budgetshopper.

Best Running Bra for Large Bust
Lululemon Energy Bra High Support, B-DDD Cups, $58
I have no doubt you’ve heard of the famous activewear brand, Lululemon. Whether you’re shopping for a simple cute sports bra or an entire athleisure outfit, Lululemon has got you covered.
Lululemon has a sports bra for every occasion. Padded sports bras, a high support sports bra, or the best sports bra for big busted runners – you can find it here.
Lululemon’s High Support Energy Bra for B-DDD cups is one of the best sports bras for large breasts that I have found for runners. This bra was made for your next marathon (or 1-mile run, I’m here for that too).
This sports bra is ergonomically designed with movement and comfort in mind. The outer fabric is made of 78% nylon, and 22% elastane, which in short means that the fabric is quick-drying and sweat-wicking – a top priority for every runner.
For my bigger busted gals, the bra is designed for intense, high-support movement for B-DDD cups. Oh, and did I mention it’s only $58? That is a steal for a sports bra like this.

Do you want to know the best part about this bra? It uses true bra sizing instead of generic bra sizes. This is huge for women who struggle with sports bras that are too tight or sports bras that are too big.
If you do not know how to find your proper bra size, check out my Instagram reel here breaking it down for you. This is an essential part of finding a good-fitting bra.
As a bigger busted woman, there are four main factors that I look for in a good running bra:
- Racerback (these bra designs are made for movement)
- Thick straps (preferably, adjustable – this helps hold your breasts up)
- Molded/encapsulated cups (this helps eliminate bouncing)
- Regular bra sizing (this helps you find a bra that is designed to fit your body type)
I also love the soft, brushed underband of this bra to help with material rub AND the adjustable hook-and-eye which helps make your bras last longer.
I reviewed this sports bra on my YouTube channel, you can check out and more in-depth review here. Overall, this bra is surprisingly supportive for large cups, adjustable, and affordable.
I love the molded cups and the support this sports bra offers. If $58 is too much for you, wait for it to go on sale and snag it then (but, be sure to know your correct bra size, Luluelmon final sales are, well – final).
Run Times Bra High Support, B-G Cups, $68
Another great running bra for large busts is Lululemon’s High Support Run Times Bra for B-G cups. I also reviewed this bra in my Lululemon YouTube video. This sports bra is also intended for high impact activities for large bust and it is designed for running.
It features padded straps for comfort that are also adjustable and crossable, a hook-n-eye closure for a customized underband fit, and a soft, brushed underband to maximize fit and comfort.
I love the simplistic style of this sports bra. The sizing is accurate and the front coverage is amazing for large bust. I also really like the color selection this bra has to offer.

If I had to choose between the two bras mentioned, I would definitely choose the Energy Bra over this one. I really like the look and feel of this bra, but I found the straps of the other bra to be more comfortable, and the shaping to be more flattering. But, for $68, this is a great Lulemon bra to add to your sports bra collection. If you’re on a budget, I preferred the energy bra. Both bras are supportive, full coverage for DDD cup sizes, and offers a customizable fit.
If you’re anything larger than a DDD cup size (F cup) and you’re feeling discouraged, don’t fret, I have just the running bra for you.
SheFit offers amazing sports bras for women who are larger than the cup sizes Lululemon has to offer. The Ultimate Sports Bra at from SheFit has a resounding 38,000 reviews averaging 4.5 stars. The bra also has patented Zip. Cinch. Lift adjustability to hold your heavy breasts in place.
I also reviewed this sports bra on my YouTube channel. You can check it out here.
All Powered Up Bra Medium Support, A-G Cups Online Only, $88
If you’re more curvy and less petite, I have just the running bra for you. Lululemon’s All Powered Up Bra for A-G Cups, Medium Support is a great solution for curvy women looking for a full-coverage running bra.
I mentioned this bra last because it is the most expensive bra from Lululemon at $88. I think it’s interesting that they are marketing this bra as a “medium support” sports bra designed for training because as a sports bra designer, I can see that this bra might be exactly what you need for your next high-impact workout.

This sports bra is designed for workouts like cycling, training, cardio, and HIIT. The cross-back straps are made for a full range of movement and the hook-n-eye closure offers a customizable underband fit.
If you didn’t know, your underband is the most important measurement of your bra – it determines how the rest of the sports bra will fit you. To make it simple, here’s how you find your underband measurement:
Use a tape measure and measure the area right under your breasts. Keep the tape measure as flat as you can, and round it around your body like your bra would fit. Be sure that the tape measure is taut, but not tight.
Whatever that measurement is (this is known as your rib cage measurement), add 3 inches. For example, my rib cage size is 29 inches around, and my correct band size for Lululemon sports bras is 29 inches + 3 inches = 32 inches. I am 32 band size at Lululemon (and other bra companies). If you fall in between sizes, size up and wear your bra on the tightest hook for the best fit.
A correct band fit will help support large breasts and stop movement during exercise. I think this sports bra has all the features a bigger busted girl like you would need for your next high-intensity workout. I also loveeee all of the colors they have to choose from!
Zip Front Sports Bra for Large Breasts
If you’re a zip-front sports bra kind of gal, I have just the bra for you, but it comes at a pretty penny. Luluelemon’s Enlite Front-Zip High Support Sports Bra for A-DDD(E) Cups is available online only for $108. Ouch.
I know that $108 is a lot of money for a sports bra. But, I have found when it comes to sports bras, you really do get what you pay for. This zip front sports bra for large breasts is designed for high impact movement. Whether you’re looking to log some miles on your Apple Watch, or HIIT the gym (do you see what I did there?🤪), this sports bra can do that for you.

The sports bra features lightweight, breathable built-in cups that are engineered for softening the bounce. It also has a bonded underband that won’t constrict, dig in, or ride up during exercise.
A lot of women are interested in front zip closure bras for the ease of taking the bra on and off. Women in the reviews said that this bra did exactly that AND it was comfortable and supportive. Win, win.
As a sports bra designer, I am immediately pleased with the sight of wide straps because I know this bra is made for comfort. The wide straps will also help with seams digging in and back pain for heavy breasts.
Best Budget Sports Bra for Large Breasts on Amazon
Let’s face it, Nike’s activewear is expensive, but a lot like Lululemon, they know what they’re doing. I find that their basic racerback sports bras is amazing for medium support activities.
The MAIN thing I look for in Nike’s sports bra is the material. Nike’s Dri-FIT materials is next level when it comes to compression technology, breast encapsulation, and the bra’s overall functionality from gym workouts, spin, cross-training, running, and more.

Nike Women’s Victory Compression Bra Plus from Amazon ranges anywhere from $20-$40 and the support system in this basic razor-back sports bra always surprises me.
I continuously grab this sports bra for a variety of activities from errands to a chill evening run. Nike really does know what they’re doing when it comes to creating supportive fabrics, especially for large breasts.
If you’re anything larger than a DD(E) cup, I would consider this sports bra medium to light support. For my DD chest size, I find that this sports bra works for medium to high impact activities. It is also true to size.
Sports Bra for Big Busted Women with Incredible Adjustable Straps
If you’re anything larger than a DDD cup and you haven’t heard of SheFit, I’m literally about to change your life, haha. This adjustable strap sports bra for big busted women changes the game for high impact sports bras during exercise.
SheFit’s Ultimate Sports Bra For High Impact Exercise has some of the highest level of support that I have seen in the market. It has wire-free seamed cups for a natural shape, a front zip for easy removal, and it’s designed to fit cup sizes A-I. Wowza.

Again, I reviewed this high impact sports bra on my YouTube channel, you can check out an in-depth review here.
Overall, I had a good experience with this sports bra. The support is seriously the best I have experienced in the market so far. Comfort-wise, it’s not the most comfortable bra, which for me is kind of a deal breaker. My goal for all of my sports bras is comfort and support. This bra was supportive but not comfortable. I’m almost willing to sacrifice a little support if it means I can wear my bra to more places than just the gym and be comfortable.
But, I think it totally depends on what you wear and what you use your sports bra for. If you are constantly struggling with breast pain during exercise and nothing has worked for you, this is your bra, trust me. I know $75 is expensive, but trust me, it is worth it.
Be sure to watch my review on YouTube because I do think their sizing is a little off, but overall I had a good experience with this sports bra!
Cute Sports Bras
Do you know who has very cute sports bras? Cleo Harper, an Australian activewear brand I came across on Instagram.
I think their sports bras are so cute, attractive, and unique compared to styles that I have seen from my go-to American brands. Fair warning for my USA gals, if you do make a purchase, there is a small foreign tax (mine was like $5 so it’s no biggie – but you have been warned!)

I think this sports bra tank is so cute. The materials is athletic and I find their pieces last a really long time. I think $69 is a lot for a sports bra tank and I would personally snag this one on sale!
I love this sports bra. I think it runs big. I actually reviewed this brand on my YouTube channel, you can check out an in-depth review of this sports bra here.
I also think this double-layered sports bra is so cute and the thick straps are just what a bigger busted girl needs for an everyday sports bra.
I find that their pieces run large. I’m normally a generic size medium, but for the most part, their bands run large on me and I find smalls fit better overall.
Best High Impact Sports Bra For Large Breasts
All in all, I think the best high impact sports bra for large breasts depends on what you use your sports bra for.
For me, I like my sports bras to be cute, comfortable, and supportive. Lululemon’s High Support Energy Bra for B-DDD cups is the perfect bra for me.
Maybe you only use your sports bras for exercise and you need the best supportive sports bra for big chest that compresses and helps alleviate back pain. In that instance, especially if you’re larger than a DDD+ cup, I’d recommend the SheFit’s Ultimate Sports Bra For High Impact Exercise.
Whatever you use your sports bra for, there’s a bra out there for you. Which sports bra will be your go-to bra for your next workout?
