1. Finding THE Bra Will Change Your Life
Your undergarments matter. My best big bust style tip is that your bra should be the centerpiece of your outfit. There is a bra for every occasion and I’m here to share some of my favorites with you.
The Best Comfy Everyday Bra For Leisure
Aerie’s SMOOTHEZ Padded Scoop Bralette is my go-to for everyday, comfy wear. These scoop bralettes are best for wearing under loose-fitting t-shirts, tank tops, blouses, and/or sweaters.
I would not recommend wearing this bra for even light movement like a brief walk because there is little to no support for exercise. But, the support this everyday bra provides for normal wear, whether you’re at the office, or hanging out around the house, is perfect. The best part? It’s actually comfortable.
Read the size chart carefully. If you’re in between sizes, always size DOWN. This material will stretch throughout the day and you want to make sure the material is snug enough that it will provide you with the everyday support you are looking for, especially in your lower band area – that’s what matters in everyday bras.
I have been wearing these seamless bras on repeat since the pandemic started and I have no regrets. They’re surprisingly shapely and so comfortable. The best bras are the ones you don’t even know you’re wearing.
I also love the color options. If $40 is too much for you, wait and snag one on sale. But, I do think that is a fair price for this bra. You would be shocked to know how much it actually cost to manufacture a bra. That’s why as bigger busted ladies, our bras are so dang expensive!
The Best Push-Up Bra for Big Busts
Target’s Women’s Everyday Lightly Lined Demi T-Shirt Bra – Auden™ is my go-to bra when it comes to structure and shape for tighter-fitting shirts AND it’s only $9.99. Like, what?
I’ll be the first to admit that I hate wired bras. They are so uncomfortable and I always find myself adjusting the bra throughout the day.
But, sometimes there is a time and a place for a well-fitted, regular bra and Target’s bras are my favorite. For only $9.99, I’ll do a little adjusting – I guess, lol!
My best tip for finding the right-fitting bra for styling your big bust is to know what your bra size is.
If you don’t know your correct bra size, I broke it down on Instagram so you don’t have to break down in the dressing room. We’ve all been there. Check out that video here.
If you find that Target does not carry your correct bra size, again – we’ve all been there. Here’s how to find the best-fitting bra available to you through that brand using sister sizing. Check it out on my Instagram here.
The Best Comfy Sports Bra For Exercise
We all know Lululemon. They’re expensive, but their bras are some of the best bras I’ve seen for comfort and support.
Lululemon’s Wunder Train Longline Bra Medium Support, C/D Cup has a high neckline to help conceal your breasts, and 1-inch straps for that added comfort and support.
As a sports bra designer, these are some of my non-negotiables when it comes to finding functional sports bras. I also LOVE the thick underband. This is going to help hold the girls in place during exercise and help minimize bouncing.
The Everlux™ fabric is buttery-soft and sweat-wicking. I personally think this bra is best for walking, biking, and light to medium support activities for bigger-busted ladies.
I also wouldn’t be afraid to put this sports bra through a weight-lifting workout that involves minimal bouncing.
I love the longline look because I think it helps smooth out our larger bust figure and create a very minimal, yet functional look.
The Best Sports Bra For High Impact Exercise For Big Busts
Lululemon’s Run Times Bra High Support, B–G Cups is the best bra for high-impact exercises for bigger-busted women. It comes in real bra sizes which is a game-changer for a customizable, and well-fitted sports bra – and I love the simple look.
It’s also full coverage and designed for cup sizes up to a G cup.
My only major complaint with this bra is the straps. I wish they would have wrapped the elastic straps in the material of the bra to help with rubbing and discomfort. But, I still think this bra is a good option if you need a supportive sports bra for your large chest.
I reviewed this sports bra in depth on my YouTube channel. Check it out here.
The Best Sports Bra For Comfort
lululemon Align™ Bra Light Support, C/D Cup Online Only is such a flattering bra for big busts.
I love the thick shoulder straps, scoop neckline, and thick underband. The butter-soft Nulu™ fabric is next-level for added comfort.
I personally think a long-line bra is a great option for larger busted women like us. I wouldn’t be afraid to wear this to my next yoga session, Barr class, biking, and even weightlifting.

2. The Best Flattering Tops Are Fitted & Structured
Flattering tops for big busts is tricky. I have always had issues purchasing tops – especially online.
My best tip for finding tops for big busts is to know what to avoid. Here are a few styles I stay away from:
- Button-down, fitted shirts (the awkward button-hole gaps around your breasts are not a good look)
- Wide necklines (what bra do you even wear with that?)
- Deep v-neck shirts (you know the ones that A cup girls rock with no bra. Yeah, that’s a no for us)
- Open back tops (do you remember what it feels like to hike up your strapless bra all day?)
- Halter tops (the front cut of the top makes finding a bra difficult)
- Front ruffle shirts (this style draws attention to the wrong area of your bust)
Here are a few top styles that I find to be flattering for big busts.
Flattering Tops for Big Busts – Big Bust Style Hacks
Creating the allusion of a smaller bust starts with first compressing the bust. I love tops that are fitted around your bust line like this one from H&M because it gives your boobs support and draws attention to your sleeves, rather than your bust size.
Some women think that tighter-fitting shirts are a no-go for bigger busted women but I have found quite the opposite!
Having a simple cut, or a simple design around your bust area allows you to layer pieces or include fun details on other areas of your top without drawing too much attention to your bust size which helps minimize your bust.
I think Target’s Women’s Everyday Lightly Lined Demi T-Shirt Bra – Auden™ would pair well with this shirt. How cute is this shirt from H&M?!
Old Navy Long-Sleeve Square-Neck Rib-Knit Bodysuit for Women
Square necklines are always a flattering big bust style hack option. It creates attractive shapes around your collarbone and keeps picking a bra easy. This simple shirt layers well with a basic blazer or a long coat.
I’d recommend Target’s Women’s Everyday Lightly Lined Demi T-Shirt Bra – Auden™ with this top for the best full figure look.
Lululemon Swiftly Tech Long Sleeve Shirt 2.0
If you’re looking for a great long sleeve athletic t-shirt to pair with your next gym outfit, this long-sleeve shirt from Lululemon is a must.
I wouldn’t recommend paying the full retail price for this shirt because I personally think $78 is a lot. But, it’s currently on sale for $29 and well worth that price.
The scoop-neck cut is easy to pair with most sports bras and it’s flattering for big busts. I also think slim-fitted shirts help flatter a curvy figure.
This shirt is also functional for running and training – my kinda big bust fashion style.
Old Navy Short-Sleeve UltraLite Cropped Rib-Knit T-Shirt for Women is the perfect basic tee for any bigger busted gal.
This shirt would go great with Aerie’s SMOOTHEZ Padded Scoop Bralette, creating a comfy and athleisure look.
I like the rounded neckline because it’s easy to pair with any bra. The cropped fit always looks great with high-waisted leggings or jeans, which takes the attention away from your bust and onto your legs. Win, win.
I actually love wearing sports bras as a shirt and a bra in one. I used to think that was frowned upon for bigger busted women, but the right bra is the key to pulling off this look.
Athleta Warrior Longline Bra D-DD+ is cute, functional, long-lined, and has thick straps and thick fabric. Goodbye double layering your tank tops and sports bras, hello to this seamless and cute athleisure look.
I know I said button-down shirts are frowned upon, but loose button-down shirts for big busts are the exception.
This big bust style hack is the perfect way to look chic and be comfortable. H&M Cotton Shirt is high quality and only $29! I love looser-fitting shirts because I can pair them with bralettes and not have to worry about any bra discomfort all day long.
I’d wear Aerie’s SMOOTHEZ Padded Scoop Bralette with this button-down shirt for the perfect business casual look.

3. Define Your Waistline
Another secret big bust style hack is to define your waistline.
I have found that the secret to really rocking a larger chest size is to wear a simple shirt that layers well with fun pieces like high-waisted pants, leggings, long blazers, and coats.
Here are a few of my go-to pants and leggings that I love pairing with simple shirts and longline sports bras that look so fashionable and they’re actually comfortable.
4. Avoid Padded Bras & Wired Bras
You know those bras at Victoria Secret that every 14-year-old girl begged their parents to buy? Hi, yes that was me. That bra isn’t actually that comfortable.
Since we are blessed with our large bust size, there is no need to add extra padding or wires to our bras. I always try to buy bras that compliment my bust size, not accentuate it.
I find that padded bras make larger breasts look too large. I always stick with basic t-shirt bras that are structured, but not padded.
I also hate wired bras because they dig into my torso. I am curvy and short so my torso isn’t that long. A simple bra can feel like it’s sitting on my belly button when there are wires involved.
I always recommend sticking to basic bras that add a little lift and shape to your bust, but bras that do not create the illusion that your bust is even larger than it already is. That’s just my personal style – I prefer to minimize my bust size. If that’s not your style, that’s okay too!
5. Invest in Your Breasts
The larger your breasts are, unfortunately, the more you have to spend to find a good bra – especially sports bras.
As a bigger busted gal, for medium support bras I recommend spend at least $20-$45 per bra (if you can grab it on sale, great!).
For high impact bras, at a minimum, I recommend spending $55-$60. The true big bust style hack for large breasts starts and ends with investing in your undergarments.
If you’re on a budget, Old Navy offers high-quality activewear for large breasts and they always have sales.
If you can afford it, I personally think brands like Lulelemon, Athleta, and Gym Shark are worth investing in, especially for sports bras.
I’m the type of gal that would rather invest a little more money up front and have my bras last longer and support my breasts better than to spend a little all of the time.
On the contrary, I think spending less on lower-quality shirts or pants can get you by if you’re on a tight budget. I love H&M and Old Navy for everyday clothing on a budget. But bras, unfortunately, break out your wallet – quality is in the big bucks.
I hope that you found this post helpful. I know having a large chest can feel limiting. My best tips is to find brands you trust and stick with them – starting with a good sports bra!
